Citizen of the Year Named

When Tomball named Steven Vaughan as its citizen of the year, he was surprised to learn he had earned the honor. The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce president Bruce Hillegeist said Vaughan was instrumental in forming the Tomball Economic Development Corp. back in 1994 and working to get it approved by voters. Vaughan also helped to house the TEDC along with the chamber of commerce, he said.

New Indoor Rock Climbing Gym Open

Looking for something to do during the holiday break? Climb Woodlands is open at 7515 Oak Bluff Drive, Ste. C, Magnolia. The facility offers indoor rock climbing, an adventure obstacle course and events for corporate team building. The climbing wall facility is open to guests ages 5 and older, and guests must be 4.5 feet tall to participate in the high ropes course. The facility is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. 832-521-3131.

New Nail Salon Opens

 The Lounge Beauty and Nail Bar will open in mid-December at 12231 Northpointe Blvd., Tomball. The full-service salon will feature nail and hair services, waxing, facials, zero gravity massage chairs and full-service massage services. A party room is also available for private parties as well as a children’s play area.
